Every successful project begins with clear communication. Setting the tone for a mutually satisfying experience, Beth is happy to offer an initial complimentary consultation to determine your goals and vision. Once a decision has been made to move forward, she will create a proposal for design services that includes the following design phases.
Design Development and Site Analysis
This entails site visits to analyze and inventory existing vegetation, assess soils, determine micro-climate, grade, and drainage, and select which property views to creatively screen.
Presentation of Concept Ideas
Considerations such as viewsheds, pedestrian traffic patterns, grade, hardscape and planting areas, water features, etc. are addressed.
Preliminary Design Draft
In addition to the above considerations, the architecture and building are enhanced with the landscape design. There is plenty of time for discussion of plant materials, stone type for hardscape, built elements for bocce court, outdoor kitchen and other personalized features, which establishes a secure fit between the client’s vision and the landscape design.
Final Landscape Design
The final design reflects and further integrates the creative ideas and functionality discussed at meetings with the owner, or team. The final design plan will include a complete plant list, hardscape dimensions, architectural take-offs, elevations and details. If desired, a lighting scheme can be incorporated.
